I've gotta , "just keep swimming". In the meantime,
here are pictures of my beautiful boy in the pool on my last visit trip.

Here we go again!

Today we are supposed to be resubmitted to the US Embassy for our "pink appointment". (a refresher) Jonas can't leave Guatemala and come to the US w/o an immigrant visa. Paperwork is submitted and then we are given an appointment date to acutally go to the embassy and file for the visa. The visa is issued the day after the appointment. According to my calculations, that last dates they gave out were around June 7th. I'm not sure what the holiday does to the dates..we'll see. Hopefully we will be notified of our pink appointment in the next few days!

What now, you say?

We have what we need to be resubmitted to the embassy to get our Visa appointment. Because Monday is a holiday, we have to wait until Tuesday to be resubmitted. It seems reasonable to me that we will know his Visa appointment next week sometime. I expect to travel somewhere around June 10th. This is just my prediction...I have no idea what will really happen.

Just reminding everyone what we are waiting for!

Weary

Ok, so most of you know that we have hit yet another brick wall in this adoption. Its a long story, but instead of being issued a date when we should go get Jonas, we got information that we had to go get re-fingerprinted and they would put his visa on hold until we did that. Our fingerprints "expired"...I won't get into how horrible the whole thing is..but we went this morning to get re-fingerprinted.
I am not sure how quickly things will move from here. It depends on the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and the Citizenship and Immigration Service. (know do you know why I have no idea what will happen when?) I am just hoping at this point to have him home by the end of June. Uh.. he will be almost 15 months at the end of June.

I am weary.

I called the US Embassy today!

Well.. thought I should maintain this illusion of control I have grown so fond of. I called the US Embassy today to see what the deal was. The nice lady said that we should get our "pink slip" tomorrow or the next day ( Wednesday or Thursday). So, with as much confidence as I can muster, declare that we will know by weeks end when EXACTLY we will go get Jonas' and bring his butt home!

PS.. This is very good news!

UGH. Allright with the waiting already

SO... we are waiting for the US embassy in Guatemala to issue us our "pink slip". The slip has the date of our appointment to get Jonas' visa. He needs his visa to leave the country. I think we were submitted on 5/7/07...I've been told it takes 3-10 days to get the "pink slip". I see the latest appointments are now 5/25/07. That would be a perfect appointment for us because of work and the holiday. I have to trust that it will all unfold as it should...this my friends, is the challenge.

So...as I wait I am searching around on the internet for where we are going to adopt from next. Yes, you heard it here first...we want a second child. We are leaning toward another boy... I just really like boys. I am going to let it go until Jonas gets home and then see where we are lead. SIGH, if only money grew on trees!

Until next time...

Jonas' Room

So here a a couple of pictures of Jonas' room.
There is already a twin bed in there because I
loved the set and we got a package deal.
OH..and it was going to be where my mom slept
before I begged her to move to New Port Richey!!

Hola mi amigos y amigas

So.. Jonas has his new birthcertificate and passport..both sporting our last name!! We are now waiting for the embassy to issue us an appointment to get his visa so he can FINALLY come home! We expect this phase to take less than 4 weeks. Its tough to really know how long anything will take..but we think we've got this right. We will let everyone know when we will go down again as soon as we hear!

Just want to mention that our dear friend Phil Hissom suffered a tragic loss this week. His father was found dead in a burnt out car in the mountains of West Virginia. No one is exactly sure what happend. So, if you have room for an extra prayer, send one his way.
